15 TV Boyfriends We Wish Were Our Valentines

Watching our favorite shows comes with a lot of emotions. We are fearful our favorite characters could be written off, we’re excited for them to have their dreams come true and often times we’re in love with at least one (or five!) of them. So in love, in fact, that we can’t help but fantasize about them being our IRL boyfriend.
That’s especially the case when Valentine’s Day rolls around and we’re swinging single. From old-school love interests to some more current heartthrobs, these are the TV boyfriends we wish would pop out those small screens and be all ours on February 14th.

15. Rick Grimes, The Walking Dead

When the world is crumbling around you, all you want is a man who you can put your trust in. That is especially true when you’re talking about the world turning into a zombie-infested nightmare with villains as horrible as the undead roaming around. Rick has proven time and time again that while he can be erratic, he also knows how to survive and thrive. That’s the type of man you want by your side when life becomes overwhelming.

14. Jake Peralta, Brooklyn Nine-Nine

A man that can make you laugh is a gift. With that, have someone wrap up Jake Peralta and send him on over because he’s a complete riot. Every week on Brooklyn Nine-Nine he delivers hilarity on a level you thought wasn’t humanly possible. He’s the goof you’d want to call your own… and with looks like that, too, how could we complain?

13. Randall Pearson, This Is Us

While Randall Pearson from This Is Us has one too many dad jokes pouring out of him, we can overlook them because at the end of the day he’s pretty much the perfect man. It’s not just about the looks (though have you SEEN him shirtless?!), but he’s also the perfect mix of strong and sensitive and a total family man. We’re OBSESSED.

12. Dr. Matt Harmon, Fuller House

Okay, personality-wise, we’re definitely still on the fence about Dr. Matt Harmon. And although we know that ~looks aren’t everything~, when it comes to having someone as your Valentine — he doesn’t exactly have to be your soul mate to spend February 14th with him. Hey, sometimes all it takes is a physical attraction…

11. Seth Cohen, The O.C.

Ugh, it doesn’t matter how long it’s been since The O.C. aired its last episode and Seth Cohen was *officially* off the market, we’ll probably be dreaming about Seth Cohen until the day we die. He defined what it meant to be a “hot nerd” and his romantic gestures were completely swoon-worthy. Played by Adam Brody, we’re basically just waiting for news of an O.C. reboot so we can have more Seth Cohen in our lives. (Not that we’d be complaining about more Ryan Atwood, either.)

10. Zack Morris, Saved by the Bell

Being that Saved by the Bell will likely be in syndication until the end of time, it’s safe to also assume people will be crushing on Zack Morris until the world ends. To be fair, we can’t blame them. He’s a smooth talker, has that cool ’90s swag, and he can stop time just by looking at the camera. Sure, he can be a little misogynstic at times but we could change him… right? Damn, wish we were Kelly Kapowski!

9. Cory Matthews, Boy Meets World

Yes, completely objectively, Shawn Hunter was a hotter man. I mean, THAT HAIR. There’s no arguing that. I’d give my heart to him in a second BUT Cory was the better boyfriend on Boy Meets World. Hands. Down. He is the type of man that would do just about anything for the woman he loves. That’s the kind of guy we dream about each and every night — but around V-Day, these dreams get slightly more depressing.

8. Beck Oliver, Victorious

Where all my Victorious fans at? One of Nickelodeon’s best, Victorious gave us so, so much. Hello — it’s the show that shot Ariana Grande to fame. It also gave us Beck Oliver (shout out to the hot-hot-hottie, Avan Jogia). That hair. That smoldering look. That boy was Fine with a capital F.

7. Nick Miller, New Girl

Every dude on New Girl is great in his own way, and we wouldn’t want to reject any of them for a Valentine’s Day date. But there’s something about Nick Miller that just feels like it could be ~more~ than a one-time thing. Perhaps it’s that whole “I can fix him” thing that some people are all about. It could also be his weird turtle face, or the fact that he thinks you don’t have to wash towels because you’re clean when you dry off. Look, we don’t like him for his brains. We like him for his personality, his looks — and of course, his sense of humor.

6. Jim Halpert, The Office

Things weren’t always perfect for Jim and Pam in The Office. In fact, Jim was kind of a douche when he was in Philly. But there’s no denying that, for the most part, Jim would be a really amazing person to spend your life with. He’s the perfect partner in crime, always keep you on your toes, and never hesitate to let you know how much he cares about you. I mean, if The Office showed us anything, it’s that Jim knew his way around a romantic gesture. Plus, you’d live longer spending so much time with Jim — they say laughter adds years to your lifespan!

5. Klaus Mikaelson, The Originals

Will you always be scared he’ll kill you? Um, sort of. Klaus isn’t the most level-headed dude alive, and he’s been known to have his ~temper tantrums~ but there are a few positive qualities we simply can’t ignore. Number one, the looks. Obviously. Number two, you really can tell that deep down he genuinely cares for his loved ones. If you’re someone who’s gotten through his tough outer shell to reach that soft and gooey inside, he’ll do anything for you. He’s the perfect Valentine’s Day date for anyone who likes to have a bad boy on their arm.

4. Andy Dwyer, Parks and Recreation

Andy is that dude you’d never expect to love, but wind up falling head over heels for because he’s just a great person through and through. He’s the type of guy who’d do anything for anyone, always has a great time and can make you smile NMW. It’s true that you never really know how much is going on upstairs in that beautiful brain of his, but the way he treated April on Parks and Rec, and accepted her for who she is deep down, proves what a stand up guy he is. Plus, he’s spontaneous! Who doesn’t love that?!

3. Turk, Scrubs

While his bromance with his work buddy would be a bit much at times as a girlfriend, knowing that he cares that much about those in his life is pretty reassuring. And while he is undoubtedly a total goofball, he is a doctor, after all! Sure, they work 24/7, but you’re a girl with ambition and don’t need a guy always hanging around waiting for you to get home from work. Plus, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t kind of thinking of that massive paycheck doctors take home, either.

2. Jim Hopper, Stranger Things

When it comes to Chief Jim Hopper, we can say we are alllllll about that dad bod life. There are those who crush on Steve or Jonathan; then there are those who crush on Hopper. We’re not saying that the Jim Hopper lovers are the ~real fans~ out there, but yes, that’s exactly what we’re saying. Not just a sweetheart, he’s not afraid of anything. And while we’re definitely gals who can hold our own in the face of danger, it’d be nice to have some backup when sh*t gets a little OTT. Plus, remember that dance?! We do!

1. Jughead Jones, Riverdale

We know — he’s ~a weirdo~. Why do you think he wears that hat all the time? But, who can honestly say they aren’t a little attracted to the whole misunderstood thing? He’s got all of that creative energy, plus his joining of the Southside Serpents also proves he’s got a little bit of that bad boy energy in him, too. We’re not saying that we’d kick Archie out of bed or anything, but when it comes to finding someone to have on a romantic candle-lit evening with on Valentine’s Day, Jughead would probably make things slightly more interesting! We would feel a bit guilty for breaking up Bughead though…
