Have you ever thought that models on the runway looked very similar? In some cases, it’s more than a designer’s casting choice, a singular hair and makeup look, or a lack of diversity. The reason you might feel like you’re seeing the same face on the runway over and over is because there are a surprising number of models who are actually related.
If you want proof that good genes run in certain families, all you need to do is take a look at the families that these models come from. In some cases, we don’t just have model sisters or cousins. It seems like most of the family is working on the biz. Here are 16 models you might not know are related.
16. Hailey Baldwin and Alaia Baldwin
You likely know a ton about Hailey Baldwin after her marriage to Justin Bieber, but do you know that she has a model sister? That would be 25-year-old Alaia Baldwin. You might not have picked up on the connection between the models because of Hailey’s blonde Cali look and Alaia’s edgy raven hair. If we look to the extended family, cousin Ireland Baldwin is a model, too.
15. Gigi Hadid, Anwar Hadid, and Bella Hadid
It’s very likely that you’ve figured out by now that Bella and Gigi Hadid are sisters, even though they have differing locks with Bella’s dark hair and Gigi’s golden blonde tresses. But, do you know about younger brother Anwar Hadid? The 19-year-old is also racking up the modeling credits. In fact, all three walked the runway at the Prabal Gurung Spring 2019 show. We really shouldn’t be surprised considering their mom Yolanda Hadid is a former model, too. Oh, and then there’s an older cousin named Alana Hadid in the industry. She’s a multi-hyphenate who focuses on designing accessories, but she has also done some modeling.
14. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Toby Huntington-Whiteley
When you do a side-by-side comparison between Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Toby Huntington-Whiteley, it’s startlingly obvious that they share the same DNA given their chiseled bone structure and full lips. However, if you never saw them together and didn’t know both of their last names, you might not have gotten the connections. Toby is the younger of the two siblings. Like his sis, Toby has a number of magazine and runway credits under his belt. When he’s not modeling, he’s a personal trainer.
13. Kaia Gerber and Presley Gerber
You likely know that Kaia Gerber is Cindy Crawford’s daughter given the fact she looks like her little twin. There are more models in the family than those two. Kaia’s older brother, Presley Gerber, is also breaking into the industry. Kaia and Presley, might only be teenagers but they have impressive modeling resumes with runway shows, magazines, print work, and the occasional professional family photo.
12. Sailor Brinkley-Cook and Christie Brinkley
Seeing the two “Brinkleys” together in the title will help clear this one up. So will seeing a photo of Sailor Brinkley-Cook and Christie Brinkley side-by-side. The model mother and daughter have the same sparkling smiles and bright eyes. Like her mama, Sailor Brinkley-Cook is creating a name for herself as a swimsuit model. She has appeared in Sports Illustrated, just like Christie. In fact, they even posed together in 2017 for the magazine along with Christie’s daughter and Sailor’s half-sister Alexa Ray Joel. Alexa, who is also the daughter of Billy Joel, is more focused on songwriting, but you could count her into the model mix thanks to that SI credit.
11. Jerry Hall and Georgia May Jagger
You might have got tricked with the different last names, but Jerry Hall and Georgia May Jagger share more than blonde hair. They’re mother and daughter and models. Jerry was a top model of the late 1970s and 1980s and racked up many runway credits and magazine covers. Georgia is having her moment now. She has her mom’s statuesque height an aforementioned hair. But, many say that her lips come from her dad, who is none other than Mick Jagger.
10. Taylor Hill, Mackinley Hill, and Chase Hill
The Hills are one very, very beautiful family. The model you most likely know by face and name is Taylor Hill. She’s most famous for strutting her stuff on the Victoria’s Secret runway. You might have also seen her siblings at different runway shows and not realized it. Mackinely Hill is an IMG model who was actually discovered with the help of her older sister. Then there’s brother Chase Hill. His sisters cover the women’s side of fashion and he has the men’s side down pat.
9. Lily-Rose Depp and Vanessa Paradis
Here’s another mother-daughter pairing for you. You might know that Lily-Rose Depp is Johnny Depp’s daughter, but have you wondered who her mama is? That is none other than French model Vanessa Paradis. All you need to do is look at some throwback modeling shots of Vanessa to see the mother and daughter are like twins. Lily is also following in her mom’s footsteps with a Chanel contract.
8. May Bell and Ruth Bell
When you look at a close-up photo of May Bell and Ruth Bell together, it’s extremely obvious that they’re related, considering their faces are so similar. They are, in fact, twins and they even share an Instagram. (If you want to see them separately, they also have the Instagrams: @maynotruth and @ruthnotmay.) Those who have never seen them together might not have gotten the connection because Ruth typically has bleached and shaved head whereas May wears her dark hair long. The contrast is something some designers and photographers like to play up in photos.
7. Lottie Moss and Kate Moss
There is only one Kate Moss, but we do have a mini-Moss to speak of — that’s Kate’s half-sister Lottie Moss. We could fill an entire page with all of the credits Kate has done, but we’ll spare you. Besides, you already know them. As for Lottie, the 20-year-old has Topshop, Saint Laurent and Calvin Klein campaigns under her belt, with the last one being a reference to her big sister’s iconic ’90s campaigns.
6. Lily Aldridge and Ruby Aldridge
Lily Aldridge and Ruby Aldridge are, as you may have guessed, sisters. They’re the perfect example of two sibs who share the same set of DNA but take up different spheres in the modeling industry. Older sis Lily has made a name for herself by modeling with Victoria’s Secret and Bulgari, and channeling an effortlessly glam aesthetic. On the other hand, Ruby tends to book the edgier campaigns. She has appeared in Calvin Klein shows and in a Valentino campaign.
5. Cara Delevingne and Poppy Delevingne
Before Cara Delevingne and her bold brows burst onto the modeling scene, Poppy Delevingne had made a name for herself modeling across runways, campaigns and magazine covers. She has since mostly moved into acting — in moves that coincidentally echo younger sister Cara’s. Even though they share a famous last name, you might not have picked up on the relationship given that the two sisters have very distinct looks.
4. Pyper America Smith and Lucky Blue Smith
Lucky Blue Smith is known for his great name as well as his gorgeous head of blonde hair. What you should also know is that he comes from one very talented family. He and his three sisters are in a band together, The Atomics. Focusing on modeling, pretty much all of the family has connections to the biz. His sister Pyper America Smith signed with IMG and has appeared in campaigns and on magazine covers. Their mother, Sheridan Smith, is a former model and Lucky’s sisters, Starlie and Daisy Clementine have also dabbled with modeling. We told you the family had good genes.
3. Adwoa Aboah and Kesewa Aboah
Adwoa Aboah is becoming one of the hottest models thanks to her shaved head, bleached brows and freckles. She had an iconic British Vogue cover. (Edward Enninful‘s first issue as Editor.) Plus, she has appeared in many other photos and runway shows. What’s more, she’s not the only Aboah to work in the model business. Kesewa Aboah is strutting her stuff on runways, too. Unlike her sister, she hasn’t shaved her head. Look closely and you will see that she has the same freckles and features as her sister, though.
2. Suki Waterhouse and Immy Waterhouse
You might be familiar with Suki Waterhouse, but are you familiar with her younger sister Immy Waterhouse? Suki has found fame as a model through contracts with brands like Burberry, Ugg, Redken and more. Immy is an up-and-coming-model who already has Aldo and British Vogue credits to her name. If you think the model family members end there, you should also be watching 17-year-old Maddi Waterhouse. Immy and Maddi appeared together in a V for Very campaign.

You probably know that Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are friends and have seen enough paparazzi photos that support the fact. What you might not know is that they are in fact related… sort of. The pair is connected through all of the marriages and divorces from the Hadid and Kardashian-Jenner families. People explains that Kendall and Kylie’s dad Caitlyn Jenner was once married to Linda Thompson, who later married David Foster, Gigi and Bella’s ex-stepdad.
