Did you run out to see Fifty Shades Freed and now you’re going into Jamie Dornan withdrawal? Are you debating seeing the sexy film again, but you think that paying to see it twice in one week would be a tad excessive? Don’t worry, while you wait until next week, there are other options to fill the Jamie Dornan-sized hole in your… heart. The obvious thing to do would be to watch Fifty Shades of Grey and Fifty Shades Darker. If you’ve already done that and you still need more Jamie (and we know you do), you can get to know the actor through his other roles. He might not be a tortured millionaire with BDSM tendencies in his other appearances, but he is still very, very hot. *Fans self*
16. The Fall
Just before Jamie made it big in the first Fifty Shades of Grey, he landed the part of Paul Spector in The Fall opposite Gillian Anderson‘s Stella Gibson. If you haven’t seen it, be warned because it will make you feel a lot of complicated feelings. Jamie is a twisted killer who does some very terrible things, but he looks very hot thanks to his beard and penchant for taking intense runs.
15. Marie Antoinette
How many times have you watched Marie Antoinette? And how many of them did you realize Jamie was in the movie? If you were distracted by Kirsten Dunst and the elaborate costumes, you might have missed the fact that Jamie played Count Axel Ferensen. You know, the one who wasn’t Louis XVI (Jason Schwartzman). If you’ve been wondering whether Jamie can pull of a tricorne hat, the answer is oui.
14. Anthropoid
Full disclosure: Anthropoid isn’t a sexy flick. If you’re not familiar with the term “anthropoid,” it has to do with a mission during World War II where two Czech soldiers try to assassinate Nazi officer Reinhard Heydrich. It’s based on a true story so it will definitely hit you in the heart. On a lighter note, there’s Jamie in retro outfits. And if the thought of a heart-wrenching war film being too much for you, the dashing Cillian Murphy stars opposite Jamie.
13. Levi’s Commercial
Okay, you might not have been expecting a commercial to appear on the list, but you’ll be glad you watched it. Jamie starred in a 2006 Levi’s commercial opposite Lily Aldridge. There’s a flash of the Golden Torso, straight jeans, lots and lots of walking, an “I Walk The Line” soundtrack and possibly a kiss at the end. Watch it for yourself to find out.
12. X Returns
It’s not just feature films that are on Jamie’s resume. The Northern Irish actor also has a few short films under his belt. X Returns was one of his earlier credits from 2009. Yes, he played X. The description reads as follows, “After 40 years of false imprisonment and cruel scientific experiments, Agent X is released.” Intrigued? If you overlook some of the ridiculousness, you’ll be able to appreciate Jamie being a sexy agent who definitely does not look like he has been trapped anywhere bad for 40 years.
11. Once Upon a Time
There have been a lot of characters in Once Upon a Time, but Jamie Dornan fans will definitely remember him as The Huntsman/Sheriff Graham Humbert. He appeared in nine episodes of the show between 2011 and 2013. You might have been surprised that he was a recluse who was raised by wolves rather than Prince Charming, but he still had the looks to rival any prince. Those who are fans of bearded Jamie will definitely approve of the stubble and artfully disheveled hair.
10. The 9th Life of Louis Drax
Jamie as a doctor? Yup, it happened in The 9th Life of Louis Drax. He played Dr. Allan Pascal in the 2011 supernatural thriller based on Liz Jensen‘s best-selling novel. It didn’t perform very well at the box office, but it’s worth a watch if you want your Jamie Dornan fix. It gets even better because Aaron Paul is also in it.
9. The Siege of Jadotville
Here’s another movie from 2016 that you might not be familiar with. The Siege of Jadotville was a historical war drama that had limited distribution in Ireland before the movie made its way over to Netflix. It stars Jamie as Commandant Pat Quinlan. It’s understandable if war dramas aren’t your cup of tea, but you might be intrigued by this one as it has Jamie sporting a mustache and fatigues.
8. Burnt
If you watched Burnt already, you’re probably wondering why it’s on the list because it did not feature Jamie. That is true that Jamie wasn’t featured in the final cut of the 2015 comedy-drama, but he was cast in the movie — and you can still see his pretty face in the bonus features. As for why he was cut — especially after he was featured in some of the previews — is a bit of mystery. He was part of the backstory and played a rival chef to Bradley Cooper‘s Adam Jones. Perhaps they thought the film had too much hotness with Bradley and Daniel Brühl already in it.
7. Flying Home
Flying Home is a film from 2014. Jamie plays Colin, a young man who has to broker a deal for a pigeon in a small Belgian town. Yes, a pigeon. Don’t let that put you off because there’s plenty of romance which makes Colin question his business and his true purpose in life. We also get to hear Jamie do his New York accent. If you’re having trouble finding the film, it’s sometimes referred to as Racing Hearts.
6. Beyond the Rave
Following Marie Antoinette, Jamie got a part in the 2008 film Beyond the Rave. It’s a horror movie that was actually first released on MySpace, so you know this goes back a few years. It follows Jamie’s character Ed, who wants to track down his missing girlfriend before he leaves for Iraq the next day. This leads to a rave where things start to get pretty ridiculous. That being said, it’s throwback Jamie Dornan and he still is mighty adorable.
5. Fairytale
Here’s another different one. This is actually a concert. If you know your Jamie Dornan facts, you will know that he has a musical side. He sings of the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack. He was also part of the folk band Sons of Jim, with David Alexander, and they supported KT Tunstall on tour. “Fairytale” was one of their first songs released in 2005.
4. Shadows in the Sun
Shadows in the Sun is another earlier work from 2009. The British film focuses on a stranger bringing a family back together. Jamie plays Joe, a young man who falls for an older woman in the family named Hannah (Jean Simmons). You can totally see how anyone would fall for Jamie in this role…or any other role on the list. The fact the film was set by the sea in the 1960s only adds to the appeal.
3. Dior Commercial
Remember that Jamie was a big model before he became the dashing Christian Grey. He has many campaigns under his belt including a Dior Homme commercial from 2007. The most important thing to know is that he’s shirtless in it. Need we say more? Okay, you might want to have a towel ready because it’s fifty shades of hot thanks to his smoldering stare and the black-and-white format.
2. Nice to Meet You
This was Jamie’s other short film. It is from 2009 and he plays the mysterious “The Young Man.” Luckily for us, we can see it online. The film is about a woman being awoken by The Young Man asking for help as he is being chased by the police. If you’re wondering, “The Woman” in the film is Trudie Styler. You might want to call it cheesy, but you’ll overlook it when you see Jamie shirtless.
1. New Worlds
New Worlds is another one of Jamie’s TV credits following The Fall. In 2014, he starred as Abe Goffe in four episodes of the miniseries. It was a sequel to The Devil’s Whore. It followed Jamie’s character in the 1600s in America, where he was determined to fight for England to become a true republic. If you want to see him with a man bob, this is your show.
