17 Celebrity Couples Whose Relationships Moved Insanely Fast

We’ve said time and time again how celebrities’ lives are nothing like ours. Everything in their world is bigger, shinier and more glamorous than everything in the world of your ordinary Joe Shmoe. That includes their relationships. Their romantic gestures are more swoon-worthy, their Instagrams are more “aww!”-inducing, and their love just seems more perfect (even though, in reality, this isn’t the case at all).

Also, their relationships tend to move faster. Celebrity couples can go from first date to new shared apartment to engaged to baby on the way to divorce in 0.2 seconds flat. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite celebrity couples who moved insanely fast. From Ariana and Pete to Pamela and Tommy, the speed at which these relationships moved will literally knock your socks off.

17. Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott

Of all the people on this list, we find it the least surprising that Kylie Jenner is popping up. The reality star literally grew up in front of the cameras, something that has often driven the twenty-something to act far beyond her years. She constructed and moved into her own home as a 17-year-old, launched her own billion dollar cosmetics company at 19 years old, and became pregnant just after her 20th birthday. But it still shocked many when Kylie welcomed her daughter, Stormi Webster, with boyfriend Travis Scott less than a year after the couple was first spotted in public. Kylie and Travis were first photographed together in April 2017 and Stormi was born in February 2018. Which means these two wasted no time getting serious!

16. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries

Kylie is far from the only Kardashian/Jenner family member to find themselves in a fast-moving relationship. In fact, she’s just starting us off. Older sister Kim Kardashian married NBA baller Kris Humphires after a quick six-month courtship. Kim and Kris were photographed leaving their first date at STK in December of 2010. By May of 2011, Kim was making red carpet appearances with a 20.5-carat diamond ring on her finger, and on August 20th, they tied the knot at a private estate. The couple’s wedding special aired on October 10th, and on October 31st, Kim filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences.” Things ended just as quickly as they began for this once-happy duo.

15. Rob and Chyna

Then there was Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna. After two months of dating, they announced their engagement in April of 2016. A month later, they confirmed that they were expecting a child together. After that, things get murky. They had Dream Kardashian, of course, but there seem to be various reports about if, when and how often they broke up. All we know is that by July of 2017 things were done for good and things didn’t exactly end amicably. There was the first very public fight, which played out over Snapchat and Instagram. Rob leaked several of Chyna’s nude photographs and sex tapes allegedly without her consent. She responded by suing several members of his family. Ah, Hollywood.

14. Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom

Finally, there’s this (final) fast-moving Kardashian relationship. Khloe Kardashian married Lamar Odom one month after she met him at a party. Here’s how it all went down: the pair was introduced at a Hollywood shindig for Ron Artest in August of 2009. Days later, they made a red carpet appearance together. After “being inseparable” for three weeks, Lamar popped the question with a 12.5-carat ring. They had a ceremony with close family and friends (that later aired on Keeping Up with the Kardashians) mere days after that. Things actually looked like they were going well for the pair initially, but in late 2013, after nonstop rumors of Lamar’s indiscretions had been swirling for months, Khloe filed for divorce. They temporarily put their separation on hold while Lamar dealt with some health issues, but by 2015, things were officially over for the pair.

13. Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden

This is one speedy celebrity relationship that, so far, seems to have a happy ending. Cameron Diaz met Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden through her friend Nicole Richie (who just so happens to be married to Benji’s twin brother Joel Madden). Paparazzi first snuck photos of the couple in May 2014, and by the next month, the couple had officially confirmed that they were seeing each other. In December of that same year, reports surfaced that the pair had quietly gotten engaged, and a month later they got married in a backyard ceremony with 90 guests in attendance. The ultra-quiet couple are still together today, and we hope that their relationship truly does go the distance!

12. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon

Mariah Carey is one person who we’d never put it past to do something as spontaneous as marrying someone she’d just met. The singer did just that when she married Nick Cannon in 2008. The couple began dating in March of that year after meeting on the set of one of Mariah’s music videos and, after a few successful dates, got tattoos to solidify their bond (his said “Mariah” and hers said “Mrs. Cannon”). A few dates after that, they surprised their friends and family by getting married at Mariah’s house in the Bahamas on April 30, 2018. All of this happened before they even took their relationship public. They ended up having twins, Monroe and Morocco, before splitting in 2014. They remain supportive of each other to this day and are true co-parenting goals.

11. Katy Perry and Russell Brand

Katy Perry and Russell Brand first met at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards when Katy was dating Gym Class Heroes front man Travie McCoy. They met for a second time at the 2009 VMA’s. This time, both were single and instantly hit it off. They made their debut as a couple a few weeks later at a Paris Fashion Week event. Two months later, Russell proposed to Katy on New Year’s Eve while they were at a tiger sanctuary in India. Things continued to move quickly after that, as they were married at another resort in India less than a year later. A little over a year after that, the two were officially divorced amid rumors of him cheating and a text-message breakup.

10. Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee

This one has to hold the all-time record for fastest-moving celebrity relationship. Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee got married after only knowing each other for 96 HOURS! You heart that right. After meeting in 1995, they tried to arrange a date, but Pamela had to cancel last minute due to a work conflict that required her to be in Cancun. Not wanting to miss out on his chance, Tommy chased her to Mexico, met her at her photo shoot, spent a few days partying with her and then asked her to marry him. She said yes, and they were immediately married, with only 8 guests in attendance. Not even their respective families knew about the wedding. They stayed together for three years and had two sons, but ultimately a domestic violence incident led them to divorce, although they did try to rekindle the flame a number of times over the following years.

9. Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton

Angelina Jolie met her second husband, Billy Bob Thornton on the set of their film Pushing Tin in 1999. At the time, Billy was engaged to actress Laura Dern but called things off with her in order to be with Angie. The couple dated for two months before getting married in early 2000. Their relationship was a bold one — they iconically wore vials of each other’s blood around their necks, and frequently made out on red carpets — it was prime tabloid fodder for the three years they remained together. They finalized their divorce in 2003, a few months after Angelina adopted her first child as a single parent.

8. Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Jackson

Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Jackson first met when she was 6 and he was 16. They met again as adults in 1992, and after a few friendly phone calls (they lived a great enough distance away from each other that in-person dates weren’t really an option and both spent good amounts of time traveling for work obligations), the king of pop asked the princess of rock and roll to marry him over the phone. She said yes, and he later gave her a ring when they met up IRL. They remained married for 20 months but never lived in the same house. Eventually, they split with Lisa Marie’s lack of desire to have Michael’s children and Michael’s lack of emotional maturity often cited as the primary reasons. Interestingly enough, part of the settlement entitled Lisa Marie to write a tell-all book about her time with Michael if she so wished, but we have yet to see one hit the shelves!

7. Louis Tomlinson and Briana Jungwirth

During the early stages of his career, Louis Tomlinson’s Instagram was filled with pictures of his One Direction bandmates and girlfriend Eleanor Calder. After dating her for three years, they split unexpectedly. Not five months later, it was announced that Louis was expecting a child with celebrity stylist Briana Jungwirth. Their son, Freddy, was born in January 2016. The fling didn’t last for long after that, and several months later, Louis and Eleanor were spotted looking mighty cuddly. For now, things are definitely back on between the singer and model, but it might be a bit awkward that while they were split he had a baby with another woman.

6. Ellen Page and Emma Porter

In an inspiring move, Ellen Page came out during a speech at the Human Rights Campaign’s “Time to Thrive” event in 2014. In 2017, she began dating dancer Emma Porter and they made their official red carpet debut at the September premiere of Ellen’s film Flatliners. In January 2018, they announced that they had gotten hitched. The adorable couple has been filling their Instagrams with loved-up posts and some of the coolest dance videos featuring Porter’s choreography. We really hope this love lasts!

5. Jordin Sparks and Dana Isaiah

Jordin Sparks has been in the public eye since she won the sixth season of American Idol in 2007. Even though her voice is insane, and she has more talent in her little finger than many of us could ever hope to have, she seems to be best known for her relationships. She spent years dating Jason Derulo before they unexpectedly split and caused quite a commotion in the tabloids. Then, in July 2017, Jordin confirmed that she was dating Dana Isaiah, and by November 2017, she announced that they had eloped in Hawaii and were expecting their first child! Their son arrived in May 2018, and the couple seems to be going as strong as ever.

4. Chanel Iman and Sterling Shepard

Victoria’s Secret model Chanel Iman met her wide receiver beau, Sterling Shepard at a mutual friend’s birthday party in December 2016. Not quite a year later, a day after Chanel’s 27th birthday, the two got engaged while looking out at the New York City skyline. Four months later, in March 2018, they had a gorgeous wedding, and on Mother’s Day, they announced that they were expecting their first child. While their timeline is a lot longer than many of the other couples on this list (it’s a far cry from Pam and Tommy’s 96 hours!), it’s still insanely fast. Imagine going from single, to married with a kid on the way in under 18 months. Insanity!

3. Amy Schumer and Chris Fisher

Comedian Amy Schumer married her chef husband Chris Fisher in April 2018 at a gorgeous beachside Malibu wedding. She had met her husband less than a year prior, and the two had developed a friendship over the course of several months before they officially began dating. Amy said that after “about a month,” she knew Chris was the one, and it didn’t take him much longer to pop the question. Eager to keep things moving forward, the couple spent a few days planning a wedding before sending a group text to their family and friends that simply read “I’m getting married on Tuesday. I hope you can come.” Talk about low-fuss!

2. George and Amal Clooney

George Clooney was one of those life-long Hollywood bachelors. He was married once, briefly, in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, but since the dissolution of that marriage, he’d sworn up and down that he’d never marry again. But not six months after he began dating internationally acclaimed human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, he got down on one knee and asked her to spend her life with him. They were married a few months later towards the end of 2014. In 2017, they welcomed twins Ella and Alexandar. They seem perfect together, and we’d be devastated to find out that they were breaking up.

1. Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson

When the news broke that Ariana Grande and SNL funnyman Pete Davidson were engaged, people were stunned. The duo made their relationship Instagram official mere days before Ari was spotted out wearing a massive rock on ~that finger~. The “official” count? They went from “casually dating” to full-on engaged in 24 days. Making things even more complicated, and really setting the pace for this breakneck relationship, Ariana announced her breakup with longtime love Mac Miller three weeks before announcing that she was with Pete, and Pete was reportedly only “on a break” with his girlfriend of two years Cazzie David when news surfaced that he was on cloud nine with the “Side to Side” singer. Talk about moving fast!
