17 Fashion Influencers To Follow On Social Media

Fashion month, arguably one of the best months to stay tuned in to social media, kicks off in New York on September 7th. Following that, we jet off to every fashion capitol, London on the 15th, Milan on the 20th, and finally Paris on the 26th. Needless to say, September is a busy month for fashion and top models alike.

If you’re someone who loves to see fashion on your timeline, it can be tricky to keep up with every moment from fashion week. Luckily, we made a list of the top models, celebrities, bloggers, designers, and editorial accounts to make sure you never miss a beat (or an unfortunate slip on the catwalk). Here are the 17 best insiders to follow on social media to keep up with fashion week.

1. Chloe Bartoli

Chloe Bartoli is a stylist based in Los Angeles but since she stays up to date on all things fashion and style-related, we feel fairly certain that she will be jetting off to be where all the magic is happening. Chloe is the stylist behind most of BFF, Sophia Richie‘s looks so we are expecting double trouble. In general, she makes a good stylist to follow to see who is wearing what on the red carpets.

2. Bella Hadid

I would definitely recommend keeping this model on your radar. Bella Hadid is taking over newsstands, on the cover of over eight international September issues including (but not limited to) a couple of different Vogues. As much as we would love to see a little more diversity, we know she will be the talk of fashion month. So if you aren’t following her already, add her to the list for exclusive backstage looks from the madness. Fashion’s It-Girl made her way to the top for a reason.

3. Olivier Rousteing

Olivier Rousteing is the creative director behind Balmain (the designer you’ve seen all over the Kardashians). Each year we look forward to seeing what he brings to Paris Fashion Week. Between the runways, the parties, and the slew of celebrity companions, we are always pleased with what we get. Follow this designer to know what’s going to be cool in fashion next season.

4. Jourdan Dunn

Jourdan Dunn is an English model who has been walking the runways since 2007 (and she’s been killing it at that, FYI). The 27-year-old has effortlessly made her way to the top and it doesn’t seem like she’s going anywhere. Jourdan generally stuns at Paris Fashion Week and there’s no doubt she’ll make a statement in London. Follow this model for updates and an all-around reminder of true beauty.

5. HYPEBAE

HYPEBAE is our go-to social media source for women’s editorial in fashion and culture. This social media account showcases street style and female-centric themes in fashion news. Plus, they have an app so you never have an excuse to miss a thing. We love the themes and photography focus, so we keep coming back to this account for aesthetic purposes. If you’re looking for updates during men’s fashion week, follow HYPEBEAST (but we prefer the empowering females).

6. Joan Smalls

Joan Smalls is a model from Puerto Rico who has already ranked #8 on Forbes Magazine’s “World’s Highest-Paid Models” list. This model is no stranger to the runways in Paris, New York, and Milan. On top of that, Joan has amazing street style that will make you want to actually make an effort to get dressed in the morning. For these reasons, we recommend adding her to the list of who you’re following for all-things fashion… especially in September.

7. Emily Ratajkowski

Emily Ratajkowski is no runway model but she is sure to attend shows and most importantly, the after parties. New York City is Emily’s playground as we can see from her Instagram so we can expect plenty of racy and feminine outfits from this model. She’s also partnered with Vogue in the past to give us her behind-the-scenes adventures of Paris Fashion Week, so we expect to see a lot from her this year as well.

8. Rihanna

Is there anyone out there who isn’t following Rihanna on Instagram yet? This one is self explanatory. Follow Bad Gal RiRi for a fierce look into her everyday life that includes posing with Anna Wintour, being the life of any party, and killing it in an outfit you would have never assumed an actual human could pull off. Plus, W Mag reported that the singer will be showing her Spring 2018 Fenty collection at NYFW.

9. Danielle Bernstein

Danielle Bernstein is one of Instagram’s most well-known influencers at the moment. You may better know her as ‘weworewhat’ and if you don’t, get to know her. The street style blogger is constantly taking the streets of New York City to give her fans a glimpse of her #OOTD. Danielle will be no surprise during fashion month and you will definitely want to follow her for an inside look. Bonus points: oftentimes she’s wearing something actually *affordable* which is somewhat of a miracle when it comes to bloggers. We have no shame shopping her look.

10. Natalie Suarez

Natalie Suarez (or ‘NatalieOffDuty’) has been modeling since the age of 15 and created a blog out of her passion for photography, creative direction, design, and styling. Natalie is inspired by the “model off duty” approach and shares her stories and photographs through her website and Instagram. Undoubtedly, Natalie will make her presence known during fashion month and we are happy to follow along on her journey (from behind our cell phones).

11. Aimee Song

Aimee Song is better known on Instagram as ‘SongofStyle’ and she is another blogger who knows what’s good for fashion. On her blog, Aimee makes guides for fashion week including the live streams to watch if you can’t make it to the big shows. She also curates diaries on her blog of the photos she takes during the crazy month for fashion.

12. Presley Gerber

This new-to-fashion it boy may be a bit of a wild-card, but we think he’s definitely someone to follow on social media for backstage Fashion Week coverage. The son of supermodel, Cindy Crawford just made his runway debut for Moschino last year. Jeremy Scott loves featuring young realtively-unknown models in his shows, like Anwar Hadid and Presley, so we have a feeling that these boys will be all over fashion week. Whether he’s in the streets, on the runway, or watching from the sidelines, he’s bound to give us the fashion updates we want to see (from a boy’s perspective).

13. Jeremy Scott

Jeremy Scott is the designer behind Moschino. He describes his most recent collab as “tasty,” a word that can very well represent his over-the-top designs that look like something Barbie herself would adore. Scott prides himself in being the reason the Hadid siblings’ careers took off. For the best look at fresh runway faces and fashion that really pops, follow this designer in time for New York Fashion Week.

14. Kendall Jenner

In the same realm of current top models is Kendall Jenner. I’m sure many can agree that they have a love/hate relationship with this superstar. While she won’t be on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk this year, she is bound to be walking the streets and runways of fashion week. Whether you love her or hate her, her Instagram will be full of the fashion photos we’re itching to see. Follow at your own risk.

15. Gigi Hadid

The last member of the young, power model triangle is Gigi Hadid. Gigi got her start walking for Desigual and you can tell that she’s made it very far since then. Zayn Malik‘s leading lady has been walking the runways since 2014 so although compared to many she is still a newcomer, she has made her name known. We can expect a lot of action coming from her social media during September. Plus she snagged herself another spot in the VS Fashion Show later this year.

16. Maeve Reilly

Another stylist on our list is Maeve Reilly. Maeve is a costume designer and celebrity wardrobe stylist who is quickly making a reputation for herself in the fashion world. Her work has been featured in Vogue, Vanity Fair, and more. The New York Native has a massive clientele of celebrity names we know and love. We want to see what she’s bringing to fashion week.

17. Vogue

Okay, so this one may be a no brainer, but oftentimes people forget that Vogue is very up to date on Instagram as well as in print and online. By definition, Vogue is the hub for fashion news and updates. If you want an image of literally every look from a runway, look no further. When you don’t have the time to check their website daily, follow their Instagram for the most important looks and updates from fashion’s biggest and baddest month yet.
