16. Every time Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka went hard for Halloween

Everyone knows that Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka are two of the cutest celebrity parents of all time. Not only are they wildly attractive, but their kids (Gideon and Harper) are straight-up adorable. 15. When Barack Obama talked about his daughters growing up

Barack Obama and Michelle Obama are not only our former (and favorite) President and First Lady, they’re also two great celebrity parents. The two of them constantly talked about how they raise Sasha and Malia to be strong, independent, and intelligent women. They can always be caught hanging out with their daughters, and consistently discuss the importance of putting family before everything.

But when did we really shed tears at one of their glorious family moments? In an interview with ABC, President Obama talked about making a home in the White House and said: “When you open a door, and they’re in their pajamas, and they’re, you know, wrestling with you and asking you, you know, to read to them and stuff, you know it starts feeling like home pretty quick,” he said. “It feels even more like home now because you have all these memories that were formed watching your kids grow up.”

14. When Busy Phillips got misty-eyed on a Disney Cruise with her daughter

Busy Phillips is a great actress, and she’s played some of TV’s most well-loved characters. However, as she’s grown up, she’s also become one of the coolest and realest celebrity parents out there. Her Instagram is full of adorable pictures recounting her daily life, but no picture stole our hearts the way this pic did. The little Disney hats and Busy’s tears? It’s almost too much for us.

13. All the Times Ryan Reynolds cracked jokes about his kids on Twitter

If you don’t follow Ryan Reynolds on Twitter, you should get to that ASAP. While Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are known for being two of the coolest (and prettiest) celebrity couples, their parenting style is pretty iconic. Ryan has also made a name for himself as one of the funniest Dads to date – mostly with his work on Twitter. His tweets are so clever, sarcastic, and bizarre — it can sometimes be hard to tell when he’s kidding and when he’s not. Here are some of our faves:

”I’d walk through fire for my daughter. Well not FIRE because it’s dangerous. But a super humid room. But not too humid, because my hair.”

”Love writing nursery rhymes for my daughter. Her favorites are, ‘Sunshine Cuddle Time!’ and ‘Everyone You Know Will Eventually Die.’” Should we be concerned?

12. When DJ Khaled brought his son to the Grammys

There are few, if any, celebrity parents who are as EXXTRA as DJ Khaled. Of course, we mean this in the best way possible because he’s constantly hyping up his son Asahd Khaled, bringing him to events, and making sure he lives his life to the fullest — and he’s only six months old. And when his dad brought him the Grammys at just three months old? Legendary. Asahd looked adorable in his little colorful tux, rubbing elbows with some of the biggest names in the music industry.

11. When Beyoncé wrote “Blue” for her daughter

If any celebrity parents are gonna use music to show off their parenting skills, it’s Beyoncé and Jay-Z. The two of them are a legendary couple, and the birth of their daughter Blue Ivy truly rocked all of their fans, and TBH — the whole world. If you haven’t listened to Beyoncé’s self-titled album all the way through: get to it. But if there’s one song you REALLY need to check out, it’s “Blue”: a tribute to her baby girl. If you don’t tear up by the end, you might not have a soul.

10. When Nicole Richie got real about parenting with Oprah

Oprah is known for giving some of the best celebrity interviews, and her 2014 interview with Nicole Richie is no exception. I really explain things to them, because really, kids want to be told the truth. They just do. They just want you to be truthful.” Sounds like great advice!

9. When Kourtney shared her birth experience on KUWTK

While a lot of Hollywood stars love talking about their pregnancy as a magical experience (and it totally is), the Kardashians are never afraid of showing the grittier side of things. Kourtney Kardashian not only got real about her pregnancy, but she even shared her birthing experience on camera. It might have been a little intense, but ultimately – it was also pretty damn cute. Kourt’s son, Mason, was born in front of the cameras for the season four finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. The part that was equal parts strange and adorable during this clip was that in the end, Kourtney actually reached down and helped pull Mason out herself! Unconventional? Sure. But it’s completely natural, and we’re here for it! She was just that excited to meet her new baby!

8. When Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith orchestrated the most extra Christmas ever

After being one of America’s most well-loved goofballs and rebellious teens during his time as the Fresh Prince, who would have thought that Will Smith would turn into one of the most well-adjusted former child stars of all time? If Jaden and Willow (his two totally awesome kids) aren’t proof enough that Will is one of the coolest dads of all time, he occasionally shows off his and his wife, Jada’s parenting skills on social media. Last Christmas, he took to Instagram to crack jokes about Jada’s obsession with Christmas, complaining into the camera as his kids had the time of their lives… riding in a horse-drawn sleigh. Can we join next year?

7. When Gwen Stefani embraced her kids’ sense of style

With a unique sense of style and (obviously) a love for music, it makes sense that Gwen Stefani’s kids would be some of the coolest kids of all time. Her three young boys already have an amazing sense of style, and a lot of it stems from the fact that Gwen is all about supporting her kids’ creativity. She was a tomboy as a kid, and she hopes that her kids feel free to express themselves the same way as she did. In an interview with Today, she said: “Everyone is dying their hair. We went and got all the colors at the beauty supply store.” That’s right; her kids are already way into dying their hair funky colors à la late ’90s Gwen.

6. When Britney turned her life around for her children

Britney Spears is one of Hollywood’s most beloved comeback stories. All over her Twitter and Instagram, you can find pics of her hanging out and spending quality bonding time with her adorable kids, Sean and Jayden. In an interview with People, Britney said: “I’ve never been happier… My kids come first in my life. Bottom line.” Now that gives us the warm fuzzies, TBH.

5. When Jimmy Kimmel opened up about his son’s health battle

Jimmy Kimmel has been one of the most prominent celebrity parents in the media for the past year or so. As the need for universal health care has become a prominent political issue, Jimmy decided to go public with his own son’s battle for his health. When his son, Billy, was just three hours old, they learned he had a rare heart defect and would require immediate surgery. Ten days later, Jimmy gave a tearful speech on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that caught the attention of the nation on the importance of affordable health care.

While Billy is happy and healthy now, Billy stressed the importance of healthcare access for parents who may not be as fortunate as Jimmy and his wife, Molly McNearney. Watch his monologue here, but make sure you’ve got some tissues on hand.

4. When Serena Williams shared this adorable pic of her daughter

We all know that Serena Williams is no stranger when it comes to standing up for herself, and she’s been a huge champion of women’s rights and feminism. After facing years of criticism about her body and talents, Serena’s already teaching her daughter to love herself and take no sh*t from haters. Here’s to many more smart and strong celebrity mamas!

3. The Way Angelina Jolie Treats Her Children’s Gender Identities

Like all parents, the way you treat your kids can affect how they view themselves forever. That’s why it’s so amazing to see parents like Angelina Jolie being unconditionally accepting and understanding when it comes to things like her kids’ gender identity! Angelina Jolie is one of the few celebs who has vocally supported her child Shiloh’s preference for more masculine presentation and style. According to Jolie: “She likes tracksuits, she likes [regular] suits. She likes to dress like a boy.” She added, “So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys’ everything. She thinks she’s one of the brothers.” While many parents might try to discourage their children from dressing in a way that’s not traditionally expected from their gender, Angelina embraces it… and that’s pretty amazing!

2. When Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson showed his soft side when talking about his kids

It’s true, Dwayne Johnson is known for being “The Rock,” but even he turns into a big softie when it comes to talking about his kids. After he was voted “Sexiest Man Alive” by People, he had a whole lot to say about how being a parent has made him the man he is today. In his interview, he stated “It’s really been this awesome, interesting, fascinating balance between an amazing, beautiful 15-year-old who teaches me, to [her] amazing, beautiful [sister]…You just hope that you take the lessons that you learned in life and you can apply them properly.” Plus, he takes every opportunity he can to embarrass his 15-year-old by bear-hugging her in public. *Swoon*

1. When Kylie Jenner finally came forward about her pregnancy

Kylie Jenner is a super adorable (and surprisingly so) celebrity parent on our list. After her almost-nine-month hiatus from the media spotlight, Kylie Jenner came forward to announce the fact that she and boyfriend Travis Scott were not only pregnant, but they actually had a baby girl, Stormi Jenner. While our jaws woulda been dropping either way, it was the way they announced Stormi’s existence that was straight-up magical. She released a twelve-minute video of her pregnancy experience, starting with footage of her own birth and including messages for her baby from family and friends. Watch the heartwarming video here.
