Together Or Broken Up? 16 Celebrity Couples

Celebrity couples are adorable, but there’s no denying love in Hollywood is ~*complicated*~. Between press tours, movie premieres, and shooting far away from home, maintaining a relationship as a star is undeniably super difficult. Lots of Hollywood couples often end up breaking up, getting back together, and repeating this pattern until it’s so hard to keep track of are-they-or-aren’t-they.

These 16 maybe-couples are sure to make your head spin as you try and keep up with their relationship status.

15. Chloë Grace Moretz and Brooklyn Beckham

Chloë admitted on the television show The Talk that she and Brooklyn had been “on and off for a couple of years.” The young lovebirds first started heating up their romance in 2014, but the Kick Ass actress played coy and refused to confirm that she and Brooklyn were ~official~. A year later in 2015, Brooklyn was spotted cozying up to a model while Chloë was busy promoting a movie. In January of 2016, the two were spotted out in London but didn’t make it Instagram official until April. By May, the starlet was gushing about their relationship once again. All was good between the two until their breakup in September of 2016, but they reconciled again six months later. With adorable, romantic Instas, all seemed perfect for the couple… until Brooklyn was spotted kissing model Lexi Wood at the beginning of April ’18. WTF is going on?

14. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom

After mingling and dancing at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016, Katy and Orlando hit it off right away. From trips to Hawaii and attending Coachella together, the two were having a blast, but their relationship was not officially confirmed until that May when Katy posted a pic with Orlando at Cannes Film Festival. Despite rumors of a breakup in November 2016, Orlando and Katy kicked off the new year together with a vacation to Tokyo. Two weeks later, Katy even threw him a surprise party. A month later after an appearance at an Oscars party, rumors started floating around that the two decided to take a break, which was confirmed a month later by their reps. However, the two were once again spotted cozying up to each other at an Ed Sheeran concert in August 2017. Then they went to the Maldives together in early 2018. We’re crossing our fingers that they’ll last this time around – if they’re even back together for real.

13. Evan Peters and Emma Roberts

Emma and Evan have a rocky relationship history. The two first met in 2012 on set of their movie Adult World, and all seemed picture perfect until July 2013 when Emma was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence after a hotel neighbor heard them fighting and police saw Evan with a bloody nose. Evan and Emma decided to put the incident behind them, and he popped the question that December. However, the two called it quits in June 2015, but were spotted holding hands three months later. In May 2016, the pair broke up again: Evan deleted all traces of Emma from social media, and Emma moved on with a new boyfriend, Christopher Hines. BUT, the pair got back together in 2016 and seem to have been full-steam ahead ever since.

12. Bella Hadid and The Weeknd

These two kicked off their romance at Coachella 2015, and were pretty mum about their relationship until August 2015, when they were spotted on a double date with sister Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas – with Taylor Swift tagging along, NBD. A month later, they rocked NYFW hand-in-hand, going public as a couple. Abel gave Bella a puppy; she starred in his “In the Night” music video. Suddenly, they were announcing that they were taking a break due to their busy schedules, just before making their first red carpet debut as a couple at the Grammys. They went on to attend the Met Gala together and even jetted off to Japan for the vacation of our dreams. However, the love is shattered that November, when they announced they’ve split after 1.5 years as a couple. Abel went on to date Selena Gomez, but once those two broke up in October 2017, Abel was spotted leaving Bella’s NYC apartment. Then it was quiet until Coachella 2018 when the two were allegedly spotted canoodling all night long. Can they just get back together officially already?!

11. Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole

The British superstars first met on X Factor when Liam was auditioning in 2010: He was 14 and she was 24. Scandal! In the following years, both went on to date other people – Cheryl even had two divorces! But then in December 2015, Cheryl and Liam reunited on set of X Factor and were spotted cozying up during a commercial break. They were together officially by Valentine’s Day. The two have now welcomed a son into the world, Bear, but have been hounded by breakup rumors. Will the two last? Only time will tell.

10. Kourtney Kardashian and Younes Bendjima

Shortly after her final split from Scott Disick in 2015, the eldest Kardashian was off the market with new beau Younes, who is 14 years younger than Kourt. The two met in 2016 during Paris Fashion Week (the same time Kim was robbed). However, the former boxer and KUWTK star were keeping their relationship on the DL, so it was unknown if they were ~just hanging out~ or ~exclusive~. Either way, they were spotted out and about a lot, but little info was known about the relationship, presumably because Scott allegedly threatened Younes several times. Come May 2017, the two were done hiding and proudly packed on PDA in Cannes. The two had been inseparable, with the exception of last month. Younes deleted his account after Kourt implied she had ~tea~ to spill about somebody. Kourtney deleted the post and her own Instagram, but both accounts were back up in no time. Despite breakup rumors, the two were back at it by the end of March posting sexy photos: He even let her sit on his shoulders to watch Beyoncé at Coachella last weekend.

9. Kendall Jenner and Blake Griffin

The supermodel and her NBA star maybe-boyfriend first stepped out together eight months ago, and she still refuses to confirm if they’re an item or not. The two were first spotted in August leaving a nightclub, and then weeks later on a double date with friends in LA… and then enjoying a date the next evening, too. Sources close to Kendall said she’s just having fun and that her fling with Blake was nothing serious. But, the two were spotted cuddling in fall 2017, and days later, Kendall watched Griffin play b-ball in LA. The next month, Blake even joined the family for dinner. The two finished off the year strong and happy, but it was reported they started fizzling out in January 2018: Griffin was even spotted with a mystery woman that same month. Griffin was then traded to the Detroit Pistons and sued by his former girlfriend and baby mama Brynn Cameron, who accused Griffin of caring “more about the glamour of dating a Hollywood celebrity than the day-to-day responsibilities of being a father and a family man.” It’s been reported that the two have decided to take things slower, whatever that means.

8. Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen

After ten years together, the two called it quits in September ’17 after fighting hard to stay together. The duo first met in 2007 on the set of the movie Jumper, were engaged in December of the next year, and then called the whole thing off in August 2010. They ended up getting back together in 2010 and welcomed a daughter together in 2014. TBH we’re just hoping this breakup is temporary.

7. Jenny Slate and Chris Evans

This power couple first met in 2015, but Jenny was still married. Nearly two years after meeting, Jenny gushed about how sweet and kind Chris is to Vulture and the two exchanged dorky and adorable tweets about each other. In April 2016, the two became very flirty on Ana Farris’s podcast. After Jenny split from her husband officially, dating rumors started to swirl nearly immediately and a month later, the couple went public. The couple broke up a couple of months later but stayed friends… which of course, led to a reconciliation later on that year, and round two of their relationship lasted a few months. While they’re currently off-again, we just hope they’ll be on-again soon!

6. Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green

In 2004, 30-year-old Brian guest starred on 18-year-old Megan’s TV show, Hope and Faith and they’ve been pretty dating/married on and off ever since. In 2006, after two years of dating and eventually living together, the couple got engaged; however, the next year, Megan’s career took off after starring in Transformers and their busy schedules kept them from seeing each other as often as they would have liked. The pair broke up in 2009 amidst rumors of Megan having an affair with Shia LaBeouf (probably untrue, TBH), and Megan said she needed to better herself before becoming a wife.
The two reconnected later that year and became engaged again in 2010; they ended up getting married in a private ceremony two weeks later while Megan was also pregnant with their first child together. In 2012, Megan welcomed her first son, Noah, and in 2014, had her second son, Bodhi. She hinted that her sex life with Brian was strained, and a year later, filed for divorce. However, in 2016, Megan was pregnant again, (and Brian was the dad), and the relationship seems to be back on. We’re sending nothing but love to the couple and their adorable family.

5. Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott

Speaking of Beverly Hills 90210 stars, here we have Tori Spelling. Tori and Dean met and fell in love while they were both married to other people, got divorced, and a year later, married each other. Eight years and four kids later, it was revealed in 2013 the couple had come upon hard times financially. It had also been leaked that Dean cheated on Tori while hosting Chopped: Canada. The topic was often discussed on Tori’s reality show. In July 2016, the State of California placed a tax lien on the couple’s property. Then in March 2018, cops were called to the family’s home twice in 24 hours: once because of a robbery (which ended up being a false alarm) and the other being that Tori was suffering from a mental breakdown. However, Tori took to her Instagram to assure her fans that she’s fine.

4. Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka

Mariah and her on-again-off-again man have been linked since 2006 when he first toured with her as a backup dancer. He’s now her creative director (talk about a promotion!). Over the years, the two spent a lot of time together while touring and formed a close bond, despite Mariah’s failed marriage and failed engagement to other men. From spending time with friends together to traveling the world on tour, Bryan was there for Mariah through everything, and they both provided each other with love and support. They even spent Thanksgiving 2016 together in Hawaii and were spotted dancing together in NYC a few days later. The two shared a romantic Valentine’s Day bath together, and in February 2017, she confirmed the two were officially boyfriend and girlfriend. Of course, there were rumors that the couple split in April 2017, but by May they were back on and as hot as ever. Let’s hope things stay smooth sailing for these two lovebirds.

3. Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama

Demi and Wilmer first met in 2010 while filming a PSA at Wilmer’s house. They were spotted by paps making out in front of Wilmer’s place in November 2011, a few months after Lovato was released from treatment for her eating disorder, bipolar disorder, self-harming and personal health. The pair split briefly in 2012 but were reunited in 2013 for V-Day. In 2014, after years of secrecy, the two finally decided to go public after Demi shared sweet birthday messages to her man on Twitter. It was full steam ahead on social media after that and in March of 2015, after three years of sobriety, Demi credited her beau for helping her stay healthy.
In June 2016, the pair called it quits… but in 2017, Wilmer helped Demi ring in her birthday festivities with a group of friends. Most recently, Demi and Wilmer were spotted on a lunch date in February ’18 and honestly, we don’t know what to believe. They left with their arms around each other! What’s more, Demi’s mom revealed that she wants the pair to reconcile and be together forever. Here’s to that!

2. Louis Tomlinson and Eleanor Calder

Louis and Eleanor dated for three years before they split in 2015 during the height of One Direction‘s fame. While they rekindled their romance two years later, times were tough during their split. Louis was linked to a handful of different women and even fathered a child with his now-ex, stylist Briana Jungwirth. After his relationship with Briana, he dated actress Danielle Campbell, but they split shortly after Louis’s mom passed away from leukemia at the end of 2016. Eleanor and Louis got back together in March 2017, and this time it’ll hopefully stick.

1. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez

Justin and Sel were first spotted cozying up at an IHOP back in 2010, but between then and now, there’s been tons of ups and downs between the tumultuous twosome. In 2012, the pair had their first split and reconciled in 2014 – right before Justin’s infamous DUI arrest. From 2015 through 2016, Biebs and Selena hung out a handful of times, and Justin posted steamy throwbacks of the pair on Insta for all to see (weird and confusing, I know). In early 2017, Sel started a new relationship with The Weeknd, but she and Justin were spotted together in October 2017 and got back together in November. The pair allegedly broke up again, but we will see how long that lasts.
