It shouldn’t come as any surprise that relationships are hard. In fact, sustaining a long-term and healthy relationship just might be the hardest thing you’ll ever do! Finding that person is part of the challenge and usually, you look for (and meet) people who are around your own age — especially when you’re in high school and college.
But when school ends, you’re thrown into a world of people much older than you and as time goes on — *gasp* — much younger. Remember when we were all in middle school and hopelessly devoted to 40-something stars like Johnny Depp or Brad Pitt? Our friends said it would never happen because the age difference is too big — but once you get older, those age differences feel less and less significant.
If you’re still single right now, just keep in mind that your future partner could possibly still in junior high. Of course, you’ll not be pulling a Riverdale‘s Ms. Grundy or Pretty Little Liars‘ Ezra Fitz… because not only is it gross but also illegal, but you’ll just probably meet them long after they turned 18 and graduated from high school. Or if that’s still just a tad too creepy for you, maybe they’re a well-established Gen X-er waiting to run into you and sweep you off your feet. You never know who your future soulmate may be.
These celebrity couples have huge age differences, at least ten years, and are living proof that age ain’t nothing but a number. They’re in love, happy, and one of half of each of these couples was at the very least riding bikes around their neighborhood when their future partner was born.

1. Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder: 10 years
Quite the pretty couple, Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder met and married soon after getting out of serious relationships with other people. No word yet on if their respective vampire backgrounds helped them grow closer, but we like to think it did. Despite a 10 year age difference (Ian’s older), they seem to be going strong. They welcomed a daughter together on July 25th of this year who hopefully will inhereit an equally beautiful head of hair.
2. Hilarie Burton and Jeffery Dean Morgan: 16 years
Did you guys even know these two were together? We had no idea! Jeffery Dean Morgan is currently creeping us out on The Walking Dead, but the 16 years he has over the former MTV VJ and One Tree Hill star Hilarie Burton, didn’t scare her away. The couple have a 7-year-old son together and a little girl on the way. Yes! They’ve been together for that long! Still shocked over here.
3. Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: 20 years
When model Rosie Huntington-Whitely was born, Jason Statham had already made countless bad decisions in his late teens. We don’t know this for a fact, but we’re just assuming that because, well, we definitely did in our ~formative~ years. This cute couple has a whopping 20 years between them. She’s 30, he’s 50, and they’re both super hot. Jason Statham looks great for his age and these two always look so in love. Good for them!
4. Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart: 22 years
That’s right! Han Solo himself has been low key romancing Ally McBeal since 2002 when they met at that year’s Golden Globes. This Hollywood couple is super private with their relationship and was married in 2010. They don’t seem to have any issues with their 22 year age difference. Harrison Ford is so youthful for a man of his age and we know Calista Flockhart appreciates that! Plus you just don’t turn down Indiana Jones, you just don’t.
5. Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo: 11 years
You see this everywhere in Hollywood: A super hot musician and a very attractive supermodel get together and fall in love. In this case, Adam Levine swept Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo off her feet. Can you blame the girl? 11 years may separate them, but they’re very much in love and expecting their second child. What a lucky girl!
6. Olivier Sarkozy and Mary-Kate Olsen: 17 years
After spending a childhood idolizing the Olsen Twins, we were shocked to learn that Mary-Kate married a man 17 years older than she is. She was always the more rebellious twin, amirite? They’re a very private couple which is disappointing because we’re really nosy and want to know more about their romance. Regardless of their age difference, these two seem really happy together. And we’re happy for them.
7. Scott Disick and Sofia Richie: 17 years
All right, these two may not be an official couple, but we can’t stop watching these two, uh… do whatever they’re doing. Scott Disick, as we all know, has notoriously effed everything up with Kourtney Kardashian and has since rebounded with several much younger actresses including, apparently, Bella Thorne. 19-year-old Sofia Richie (daughter of Lionel Richie) has been the latest, and the one to stick around the longest. While she initially claimed they were just friends, it’s become apparent more recently that things are definitely getting a bit more serious than that. Plus, her own dad said, “I’m scared to death,” about their new relationship.
8. Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky: 21 years
Hollywood’s It-girl, Jennifer Lawrence was single for a surprisingly long time for someone so fun and talented. Turns out she was looking for someone as accomplished and artistic as herself. Or maybe she’s just picky which is totally cool. The 27-year-old actress met the 48-year-old director when the two made the recent horror film Mother!. The pair clicked and have since publicly debuted their romance. We don’t know much about them yet, but we can only assume things are going well. Well, hopefully better for them than the couple in Mother!.
9. Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green: 12 years
These two have been together forever (excluding the few bumps in the road that their marriage faced)! They met on the set of a TV show when Megan Fox was only 18 and Brian Austin Green was 30. They liked what they saw and went for it. They did break up for a little, but love (or age!) cannot keep two soulmates apart. They are now married and have three young sons.
10. Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor: 32 years
The extremely talented American Horror Story actress has been open about her bisexuality throughout her career. She has been with 74-year-old television actress Holland Taylor, known most recently from Two and a Half Men, since 2015. This unlikely couple are very much in love and have been very open with their huge age difference. It doesn’t bother them at all because they enjoy one another’s company. While it must be annoying to deal with all the talk around their relationship, this pair handles it with complete class.
11. Alec and Hilaria Baldwin: 26 years
Alec Baldwin has risen in popularity again thanks to his Donald Trump impression, and it appears that these two have a few things in common. The hot-headed actor coupled up with the much younger yoga instructor and dancer six years ago. They’ve since had three children in quick succession so apparently, things are going really well, if you know what I mean. *wink* *wink*.
12. Portia De Rossi and Ellen Degeneres: 15 years
If you’ve seen these two together, or have watched Ellen Degeneres‘ daily talk show, you’ll know how much these two love and enjoy each other. Compared with some others on this list, 15 years is nothing, and clearly, it doesn’t bother this chic blonde duo. They’ve been married for nine years now.
13. David Cross and Amber Tamblyn: 19 years
Maybe it’s David Cross‘ huge, gray beard, but the saying “opposites attract” applies here. While you can tell that David Cross is clearly much older than Amber Tamblyn, she’s stated that he is so kind and makes her laugh so much, she knew he had to be the one. Let’s all collectively “Awww,” because isn’t that just the sweetest thing you’ve ever heard? They just had a daughter earlier this year who will no doubt grow up to be a badass feminist just like her mom.
14. Kris Jenner and Corey Gamble: 25 years
Can we really keep up with these crazy Kardashians and all of their shenanigans? After the infamous break up between Caitlyn Jenner and Kris Jenner, Kris had quite the rebound. While rebound relationships don’t usually last long, Corey seems to be sticking around for the long-haul. It was surprising at first and still, honestly, is. Kris’s younger bae is the same age as daughter, Kim Kardashian, and younger (!) than Kourtney, but would you expect anything less from the momager? We wouldn’t — though it is funny to think about how when she was raising her young daughers, her current boyfriend was a baby, too!
15. Hugh Jackman and Deborra Lee Furness: 13 years
There’s always something nice about a hot, young guy flipping the script and being married to an older woman. After all, we so often hear horror stories about couples who were married for years before the guy ups and leaves for the hot, young supermodel and never looks back. This is a good one to remind you that not all men are trash. Who can really blame Hugh though — his wife is gorgeous and the two have some amazing chemistry. The pair met back in Austrailia on a TV set and have been together ever since. They’ve been married for over 20 years! When you know, you just know.
16. Dominic Purcell and AnnaLynne McCord: 17 years
Tough guy and Legends of Tomorrow star Dominic Purcell looks mean, but he must be a total teddy bear to be in a LTR with the 90210 actress. Also, the guy is pushing 50 and still looks like a total babe! She’s called him her best friend. They were together for three years, broke up for one, and got back together a year ago. It’s safe to say that these two love each other and their age is not an issue.
17. Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer: 13 years
The True Blood costars met on the set of their HBO show and it was love at first sight for Stephen Moyer. Or maybe they fell for each other after all of those realistic sex scenes. Whichever. They’ve been married for 7 years and have 4-year-old twins. Regardless of Sookie and Bill’s relationship, these two were meant to be — though we’ve gotta admit that filming some of those intimate scenes with other people must’ve been a bit awkward once their relationship was in full swing.
18. Jay-Z and Beyoncé: 12 years
The official king and queen of music have 12 years between them! They also started dating when Beyoncé was super young. Remember when we had no idea how old Queen Bey was? It was a secret for a long time, but it’s probably because she was working too hard for someone who wasn’t even 18 yet, and soon after becoming legal, was shacking up with a man well in his 30s. (No judgment.) They’ve definitely had their ups and downs in their last 15 years of marriage (i.e. the elevator incident and Lemonade‘s revelations), but they just welcomed twins this year and seem better than ever.
19. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds: 11 years
We could stare at these two all day. They’re just SO good looking. Probably one of the best looking couples around. Many probably couldn’t even guess that Ryan Reynolds is a full 11 years older than Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively. This duo met during the filming of The Green Lantern and started dating soon after Ryan’s split from Scarlett Johansson. Remember that? Feels like ages ago. They now have two young daughters and seem like the most genuine, in-love couple around.
