Let’s be real, even if you love your actual parents, all of us have fantasized about having celebrity parents at least once. Getting to experience the fame, the fortune and all of the perks that come with being the child of a celeb would be awesome. Granted, all of that attention could get pretty old pretty quickly, but who hasn’t thought about what it would be like to have Kim Kardashian drop you off at school, or have John Legend walk you down the aisle?
We’re just saying, if we could be adopted by any celebrity parents, these are who we would pick.
1. Beyoncé and Jay-Z
This one was totally a given. As far as celebrity parents go, no one does it quite like Bey and Jay. It’s pretty much an undeniable fact that Blue Ivy Carter is going to grow up to be the most powerful person in the world. Perhaps the future president? Just sayin’.
When you have one of the world’s most talented singers, dancers and feminists as a mom — and a rapper/mogul/businessman as a dad, you’re pretty much destined for greatness. Plus, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have made their feminist ideals pretty clear in recent years, so you know Blue Ivy (and her new sibs) are gonna be raised to be confident and take no sh*t.
2. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Let’s be honest, being a child of these celebrity parents would be a life of luxury, and of course — fashion. While being the child of Kim and Kanye may be, well, interesting at times, it’s undeniable that they are totally obsessed with their kids. In nearly every Snapchat Kim posts, she’s smothering one of her children with affection. They always make sure North and Saint are happy, entertained, and living their best lives. Plus, can’t you just picture Kanye being your ultra-protective Dad when you go to prom? Aw.
3. Kourtney Kardashian
Let’s be real though, if there’s one Kardashian lady who screams “mom,” it’s Kourtney Kardashian. As the most serious of the sisters, she is not afraid to be tough when she knows what’s best for her family. Like, she managed to cut Scott out of her life when she realized his partying ways were dangerous for Mason. She only resumed communication when he (kind of) got his life together — that’s tough stuff. Plus, you know that Mason, Reign and Penelope are only eating totally natural, organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan everything.
4. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds
On top of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds being straight-up couple goals, they have shown us time and time again that they would be amazing celebrity parents. First of all, besides being a stunningly beautiful couple, Blake and Ryan’s social media presence is incredible. Ryan’s incredibly sarcastic tweets about his children such as: ”Nothing better than spending an entire morning staring into my baby daughter’s eyes, whispering, ‘I can’t do this’” are amazing. It basically seems like Ryan was put on this earth to make dad jokes. The two are constantly cracking jokes and making each other laugh, so — please adopt us? Thanks.
5. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend
You know that when we’re talking about celebrity parents, we’re immediately thinking about Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. Aside from the fact that the two are madly and beautifully in love, they are phenomenal parents. Chrissy makes it clear that she doesn’t have the time to tolerate ignorance or bullying, so you know she would have your back no matter what. Plus, being constantly treated to her amazing home cooking and having John Legend singing you lullabies every night? Sign us up.
6. Tina Fey and Jeff Richmond
Being the child of celebrity parents, Tina Fey and Jeff Richmond pretty much means that you’re guaranteed to be one of the funniest and smartest people in the world. From a lot of stories and interviews, it’s pretty clear that Tina and Jeff’s daughters are already totally unique and a little weird, just like their ‘rents. Plus, Tina may be known for her comedy, but she’s serious when it comes to the ~real~ stuff. Being blessed with Jeff’s musical talents and Tina’s sense of humor would make for one awesome child. We’re available, just sayin’.
7. Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka
Talk about celebrity parents who you know would be extra AF… in the most fun way possible. Of course, we had to address Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka’s over-the-top Halloween costumes. That kind of commitment to Halloween shows that Neil and Dave are silly, love to have fun, and are totally childlike at heart. Plus, if you follow them on Instagram you know they’re constantly going on all sorts of fun, family-friendly outings. It’s almost too wholesome.
8. Britney Spears
When it comes to celebrity parents, Britney Spears is the ultimate mom. This woman has been through the ringer, and ended up getting her life back together and dedicating her life to motherhood, all for her kids — Sean and Jayden. She managed to get herself clean, take care of her mental health and now she’s the ultimate super-mom. It’s pretty clear that she totally adores her sons more than anything, plus she’s just so silly and fun. We’re envisioning lots of family karaoke nights and choreographed dances.
9. Reese Witherspoon
Okay, look at Reese Witherspoon’s daughter and tell us they’re not actually twins. Her daughter, Ava Phillippe is crazy-beautiful, just like her mom. Reese, Ava and little brother Deacon are always hanging out, going to fun events together, and looking identical, of course. Plus, Reese has recently been speaking out about the recent harassment scandals in Hollywood, which shows that aside from being fun, she’s a totally badass, feminist, power-Mom. She was even recently voted as one of Fortune’s most powerful women. Talk about #momgoals.
10. Anna Faris and Chris Pratt
Let’s be honest, we have to talk about Anna Faris and Chris Pratt. Hearing that our favorite celebrity parents were separating basically felt like the end of the world (not to be dramatic or anything). Just from their Twitters, we all became completely obsessed with this funny couple and their beautiful family. The two are still consistently seen hanging out with their son, Jack, which shows that they are truly dedicated parents, together or not. So despite the breakup, we’re 100% hopeful that Anna and Chris will be able to remain friends, and hopefully adopt us into their awesome family.
11. Amy Poehler and Will Arnett
Yes, you could say that the day Amy Poehler and Will Arnett decided to split was the day that love died. BUT, we still decided to put them on this list since time after time, they have proven that they’re basically the coolest parents ever. Not only are they incredibly funny people, their relationship was so healthy and beautiful that their divorce sparked a huge amount of sadness/disbelief from their fans. However, Poehler wrote the following in her memoir: “I am beyond grateful he is their father, and I don’t think a ten-year marriage constitutes failure. That being said, getting a divorce really sucks.” *Cries*. But if anyone can get through that sh*t while still being awesome and mature parents, it’s those two.
12. Gwen Stefani
How amazing would it be to have Gwen Stefani as your mom? This hollaback girl is not only seemingly-ageless (wrinkles, who?), she is a certified super mom. Now separated from ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, Gwen is in a pretty serious relationship with country star, Blake Shelton. The two have been seen all over with Gwen’s three kids, going on tons of wholesome outings and family events. The kids even had a guest cameo in Blake Shelton’s most recent music video for “I’ll Name the Dogs,” which is a love song about a couple getting married. Um, hi Mom and Dad!
13. Hilary Duff
If there’s anyone who would understand how hard it can be to get through your awkward teen years, it’s Hilary Duff. Seeing as a lot of us were pretty much raised on Lizzie McGuire, how could Hilar not be a star mom. She and ex-hubby Mike Comrie are on pretty good terms, and since their split Hilary has made it clear that while dating is nice, parenthood is her true priority, ATM. After her years of childhood fame, Duff has somehow managed to stay completely out of the spotlight and keep her private life actually private, too. Super admirable.
14. Angelina Jolie
When you think strong, independent celebrity parents, you more than likely think about Angelina Jolie. As the mother of an approximate 100 children, a political activist, and a UN ambassador, how could you not want Angelina to be your mom? Throughout her career, she has shown that she’s incredibly brave, intelligent, peace-oriented and strong. Plus, being adopted by Angelina would mean having six awesome siblings to hang out with at all times. How cool would it be to say your mom is a famous actress by day and superhero/humanitarian by night?
15. Jimmy Kimmel and Molly McNearny
Recently, Jimmy Kimmel has gotten a lot of publicity for being an extremely politically-outspoken super-Dad. It all began when Kimmel’s son, Billy, with wife Molly McNearny, was born with a congenital heart defect. The heart condition required extensive life-saving surgeries, and continues to be an issue of concern for the family with Billy awaiting another procedure. Heroically, Jimmy used this personal issue to make a public statement about the importance of access to healthcare. He delivered a memorable, tearful monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live to stress just how necessary it is for families of all backgrounds to have affordable healthcare. Talk about being a great dad.
16. Gwyneth Paltrow
It’s no secret that Gwyneth Paltrow is a multitalented mom. She can (obviously) act, she can sing, and (lesser-known fact), she has a cookbook out. After her split from Chris Martin, her husband of ten years and father of her two children, Apple and Moses, this mom shows no signs of slowing down. Recently, Paltrow has been super outspoken about the Harvey Weinstein scandal and her own negative experiences with sexual harassment. Can we get another “hell yeah” for all the feminist celebrity moms?
17. Will and Jada Pinkett Smith
Finally, we saved one of the coolest celebrity couples for last. Aside from the fact that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are two of the most talented (and beautiful) celebs out there, we wouldn’t mind being siblings with Willow and Jaden, either. Every member of this family is unbelievably unique, creative, and straight-up cool. Have you seen Pursuit of Happyness?
